THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN P-TRAP AND S-TRAP TOILET INSTALLATIONS

Understanding the difference between P-Trap and S-Trap toilet installations is essential when selecting the right toilet for your bathroom.

P-TRAP

  • Toilet bowl with wall drainage

  • Waste pipe goes out to the wall

  • Measurement is taken from the floor to the center of the waste pipe

  • Standard measurement: 180mm

  • Waste pipe is connected using a pan collar

S-TRAP

  • Toilet bowl with ground drainage

  • Waste pipe goes through the floor

  • Measurement is taken from the wall to the center of the waste pipe

  • Standard measurement: 150mm to 250mm

  • Waste pipe is connected using a pan collar

Please take note that the WC size is still the same, the only difference is whether the trap is positioned below or at the back.
